I can't remember the last time I found a 914 that wasn't a basket case for under $5k. And this one looks complete, albeit not perfect. But still. So, NP or CP?
EDIT: I always forget a link. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

I'd say NP. I love the 914!

Please provide Uncle Jkm with a link so he can judge it.

Look for bondo, especially around the doors and rockers.

Damn, forgot. Its on there now.

Agreed! The 914 is very cool. If I were to get one, though, I'd want a 914-6, which are sadly too expensive now.

Assuming that it runs halfway decent, I'm willing to give it a NP...

It doesn't look horribly rusty. The rocker panels, Yeah. But whatever, It gets the NP from me.

Lol. Just put it in there.

Yeah, for sure. There's probably a decent amount, considering the price of the car.
![]() 01/10/2015 at 22:41 |

Yeah, I'd say NP too. Considering the price, it probably runs decent, possibly subpar.

I'd say the same. Yeah, its not perfect, but most other 914s I find for this price are either complete basket cases or utter rust buckets.

Been to Grand Rapids in the winter. Salt, snow, more salt, lots more snow. In a garage for a year, but for the decades before that? If it's solid, NP, but I'm guessing CP based on the (scant) description.

Trust me, I know, I live in Michigan too. It is basically salt-encrusted hell for cars here. Yeah, saying its been in a garage for a year really doesn't say much. I'd still say NP, though, considering that most other 914s I find around this price are complete basket cases.

It is a good price, and since it's a Michigan car the rust is actually not bad Haha.

Tempting this is
![]() 01/10/2015 at 23:01 |

Exactly! I've seen MUCH more horrendous rust from Michigan cars than that.

Indeed it is.

Be glad I don't live out there. I would have snatched this for that price.

If you're in the market, take a look. I drove one when I was 17, but I did not learn how it handled because it was basically around the block. I recall that the shifter felt like one in a VW Bug, and the clutch was grabby. Ride? Cannot recall.

Lol, come snatch it up! I can't buy it. Don't really have enough cash for 2 classic cars.

Nah, I'm not in the market. Just figured I'd post it. I really can't afford 2 classic cars. Would love to, but I just can't.

I would love to have one car of any sort ... but NYC. Always fun to dream of what I'd get if I had to buy a car ....

At the moment, I don't have a place to put it, but that's right about what I'd be willing to drop on a 914, and I do want one. The 1.8 or 2.0 4 cyl cars are more than enough for me. Just a fun little get-around car.

Ah, I gotcha. Darn :/

I would be hesitant before getting a better view behind the battery. Also looks like the rockers have been repaired as there is an extra lip from the welds.
![]() 01/11/2015 at 00:07 |

Yeah, I gotcha. I would agree, the rockers definitely look repaired. Though, I really kind of expect that from a $4500 914. As a matter of fact, I'd really expect much worse.

Just jaded as with 914 prices as I paid 1k for my first one and 1.5k for my second. And looking at 914-6 make me dizzy.
